Ready for a little inspiration?

After all, it’s way too early to feel the symptoms of burn-out before you even graduate, and you could use a little reminder as to why you are grueling through 50+ hours a week at an unpaid internship, studying for the boards every chance you get, and trying to balance “work-life” on top of that…

I promise there is a light at the end of the tunnel, Friend. And the purpose of this posts is to show it to you.

This book, “Vagabonding” by Rolf Potts, spoke to me at a deeper level as a traveling therapist. It helped me to understand that there was not just one right way to “The American Dream.”

Potts introduces his coined term, Vagabonding:

Vagabonding is “a private choice within a society that is constantly urging us to do otherwise.”

Tell someone you move every 6 months on average as a traveling therapist, watch their facial expression, and you will understand what he means by this. 😉

Potts continues detailing Vagabonding as:

“[…] the ongoing practice of looking and learning, of facing fears and altering habits, of cultivating a new fascination with people and places. This attitude is not something you can pick up with your boarding pass; it’s a process by which you first test the waters that will pull you to wonderful new places.”

In short summary, Vagabonding is:

“[…] looking for adventure in normal life, and normal life in adventure.”

And that, my friend, is the epitome of traveling therapy.

“Inspirational” is an understatement for this book for anyone looking to become a traveling therapist. It has found a permanent spot on my (foldable) nightstand- And I hope it inspires you too.

So, if these quotes speak to you like they speak to me, I wanted to provide you options to listen to the book or read it here:
